I use a LEE lead pot but the standard "dipper" type, and over the years have found out that once the lead and mold have gotten to the right temperature, bullets tend to almost fall from the mold with little,if any, problems.
Once the mold gets too hot ( I use LEE Molds),I put it aside and refill the pot and by the time the lead melts, the mold has cooled down enough to continue casting.
If the bullets come out "frosty" the lead is too hot and if they are "wrinkled" more than likely the mold is not up to temperature.
If you are using LEE molds, make sure that you prep the mold correctly. On the LEE Precision website, they have video instructions on how to do that. Real simple and quick.
I will cast about 2-300 bullets per session and being that I only have a single or double cavity molds, that is enough for me.
