There is something about them. I have read a hundred times they are "built like a tank' and that is true. But there is a lot more-the quality and the simple ruggedness of the things.
There is something very American about them. Honest. Real.
I have owned many handguns..most have been sold/traded away. But my Bond derringers? No I keep those. (A Snake Slayer and a Snake Slayer IV).
Fun? Yes. CCW? Yes. (usually as a backup).
Limited? Yes. But truthfully, most civilian defensive encounters are at 10 ft. or less. Frequently at touching distance. No slide to go out of battery. Just 4-5 000 buck COM.
Anything I said resonate with someone here?
I just found this site-hope it stays around!

MG45, Yes,I like my Bond Texas Defender very much. I have over nine different barrels for it but my favorite is the 3 inch barrel in 410 2.5 inch. For daily wear I usually load it with Hornady Critical Defense rounds and have 6 Hornady CriticaL Defense 45LC rounds for a reload.
When out fly fishing,I load 410 2.5 in # 7.5 shot. Snakes of the venomous variety a very few and far between but I would rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it.
For practice loads,I use 200 LSWC bullets over 5.5 grain of Trail Boss. Practice distance is about 10-12 feet.
