I was looking for a place on the web where bond owners gathered... landed here.
Just got rid of a new glock 20 4th gen (didnt even shoot it..) just didnt care for it...the 3rd gens are awesome... but..I decided since i was dumping it that
id get a gun i always wanted... and so now i have an awesome Ranger II 45/410... and since i just got it i qualifiy for the speical going on at bond arms..
current buyers get a new extra barrel at 50% off... So i ordered the shorty in 45 acp for like $50 ..WOOT !!!
I was amazed that bond owners.. and theirs a ton of them, dont really have any central site focused on everything a bond owner might want...( custom stuff )
so Im going to create a site and centralize every custom maker and product I can find for bond derringers.. sort of a reference place... when its up ill let everyone know. its fun to get a new goodie for your fave pistol now and then...lol
ammo and what to carry for it.. was a big contention everywhere on the web as 410 loads are kinda crazy out there right now... i got lucky and found a site that had done a professional level study on 10 of the top 410 loads that are popular right now.. the clear winner was the remmington load with "4" 00 buck 3 inch shell... outpenetrated and out hit every other loadup out there right now...and at farther distances... and to my happiness..it was the cheapest too..
$16 for a box of 20 .. well..thats it for now... i found a guy who makes awesome carbon fiber grips for the ranger...having him work up a quote for the ranger 2....
im..thinking tritium night sights would be a nice option...if one is shooting 45 long colt... and needs to shoot in the dark... the front sight isnt a prob , it just gets milled flat and the front sight flat gets tapped and drilled for installing the tritium site, its the rear thats a bit trickier, you cant really install the rear tritium sight there, so my machinist is thinking install seperate tritium sight tubes on the frame each side of the actual rear sight... that wouldnt be too bad of an option actually... thinking on it some more...
LOL ...one person said.. how about a laser sight.. i said what load are u shooting... he said 410, i laughed and said you dont need a laser, you need
dark sunglasses and a flashlight.... he said ....what!!! why i said so u dont get blinded by the huge muzzle flash, and the flashlight so you can see
whats left of whatever you just shot...LOL .... well he never replied on that...lol
well ive had my 5 mins of fun here...off to finsh todays honeydo list...LOL
