Well, I took my Bond Arms derringer for it's first outing today. Me and a couple of neighbors went on an ATV trip up into the National Forest. I took the derringer and a box of Remington 3" .410 shotgun shells loaded with #6 shot. I also had some of my .45 Colt cowboy loads, which are 200 grain RNFP's over a charge of 5.5 grains of Red Dot. The .410's were a bit "Snappy", but not unmanageable. from 7-10 feet, the shot pattern spread out pretty wide, but still tight enough for "Minute of snake".... The .45 Colts were very easy to shoot and the spread was about 4" from about 10 feet. I have to say, the trigger pull on this pistola is horrendous! I need to throw a little oil in there and get this beast smoothed up a bit. One of my neighbors is left handed like me and both of us managed to activate the crossbolt safety inadvertently during firing. I have to remember to keep my thumbs low when gripping the gun. I placed the pistol in my DeSantis Nemesis holster and stowed it in my tank saddle bags. I can see that this will be a perfect spot to pack this derringer on my ATV loaded with a couple of rounds of .410 shot loads just in case I run across a rattler out on the trail. All in all, I am very happy with my new derringer.....

Red Dot is supposed to be just the thing for .45 Colt, but I don't have any. Nice report - hope it continues to be fun for you. And sorry to hear about the trigger.

Yeah, I really enjoyed the 5.5 grains of Red Dot. It was very pleasant to shoot. I think I will have head out the range and put a couple of boxes through this beast to see if that will break things in a bit.....
